University scholarships? I just got accepted to a very selective state university and I specifically stated in my essays and in my financial certificate that I could only afford one fourth of the cost of tuition. They say that they consider international students for a very limited amount of merit scholarships and if I got accepted and they have a limited amount fos eats for international students (8.3% of international students get accepted) does it mean that probably along with my mailed official letter of acceptance I get an offer of financial aid or something?

Do I have to apply for university scholarships? When I apply to a university in America, do I have to apply separately to be considered for merit-based scholarships or will they consider me just from my regular application? I know it is not the same in all schools because in Duke they just consider all applications for merit schoalrships but is this generally the case? Also, can anybody suggest any good Universities that can provide scholarships based on merit? I got a 2130 in the SAT 1 and am hoping to apply to Ivy League institutions but am unsure if I could afford them, as I doubt I would receive enough financial aid. Thanks!

What scholarships do you get to the University of South Carolina? I really want to go to that school, but the out-of-state tuition is ridiculous. And even if I managed to get in-state tuition w/ one of their university scholarships, the total price would still be around 15, 000 (for housing, meals, et cetera). So is that really the price you will have to pay or no? Because it says the average debt at graduation is about 20,000, but how can that be if it's already 15,000 a year? Thanks!
