Also, if it does apply, if I have been treated for allergies to pollen and grass, but not specifically asthma since I was about 8-10 (I'm 14 atm) is there a way to make it in? Need opinions...Which graduate degrees should I consider? I have an Associate of Arts degree in Health administration (here is the degree description... The Associate of Arts with a concentration in Health Care Administration is the study of health care organizations, roles of health care workers, public policy, information technology, financial management, and regulatory and ethical issues of health care. The current strengths, weaknesses, and challenges of the U.S. health care system are discussed. Students also critically examine the current state of health and disease, health care’s laws and ethics, the psychology of health, and financial operations of the health care system). My undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Science in Technical Management with a concentration in Health Services Management (similar to the the Associates but obviously more advanced). I'm looking to start my graduate degree late August and not sure which route I want to take. I was considering an MBA (to keep it simple and I don't want to major in Health anymore). I currently work in Marketing and Advertising, but don't want to do my graduate degree in Marketing. There is where the confusion comes in and I would like a few suggestions of graduate degrees that may be useful in the career world. Just in case anyone is wondering, yes, I originally wanted to get into the health care field when I started school June 2005, but since then have changed my mind. There are no particular fields that I'm looking into, if I can move up at the company I'm employed with now I would stay, but as of right now I'm job hunting because ideally I would like to make more money. I am looking in the same field as my current job as well as health care. I love computers but have no hands on job experience so I'm also considering a degree in IT or IS. Upper management at my company holds Masters as well as PhD's. I received my BS degree from DeVry and will attend their graduate school Keller. As long as my BS is from DeVry it does not matter what I major in for my graduate degree, I don't think that I will have to take the undergrad courses (but I could be wrong, so I will have to double check).
How does technology influence social behavior? Hey friends, I am writing a college paper on "How Technology Affects Social Behavior". I am wondering if you could share some thoughts on how technology influences your social life, or doesn't, which ever applies. If you could, be as detailed as possible. It would help me out a lot. Specific questions I have are: Do you feel the rapid advancement of technology is helping our world? Why or why not? Do you think having a computerized world makes humans obsolete in the workplace? Are there jobs that you could be doing that a computer is doing instead? Should the government limit the use of machines in the workplace to increase the amount of jobs available for humans? Do you think this would help the economy by providing more jobs, or would it only increase the production costs and increase the selling price for manufactured goods? Should employers spy on the employees' personal lives by looking up its their MySpace or Facebook page, or keep tabs on them outside of work by using technology? Explain why you think it is a good or bad idea. In response to the previous question regarding employers using MySpace/Facebook, should there be laws passed which specifically prohibit the use of these tools to monitor employees outside of a work environment? Does the use of social networking sites, chat rooms and instant messenger programs (and even cell phones) take away from a teens ability to socialize with people in the real world? Do you believe the internet use policy prohibiting use by people under the age of 13 is effective, and should it be relaxed or should the age restriction increase? By this question, I mean the use of internet forums and chat rooms and other sites that ask the user to acknowledge they are at least 13 years old. Should sites such as MySpace be responsible for the content posted by its users in the event something should happen, such as a teen being abducted after posting their street address for the public to see? Why or why not? Would this actually prevent these issues from occurring, or would it simply place blame in the wrong place? If you can answer any or all of these questions, it would be greatly appreciated. I want to see what the public thinks so I can incorporate this into my paper along with my research from professional sources. Feel free to add anything extra you feel is important, as there are probably other issues that I missed. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. If you have further information or wish to discuss thoughts on this further, please see my profile and send me an email.
Study Shows China as World Technology Leader? Technology indicators show China ahead of the U.S. in technological standing Atlanta (January 24, 2008) —A new study of worldwide technological competitiveness suggests China may soon rival the United States as the principal driver of the world’s economy – a position the U.S. has held since the end of World War II. If that happens, it will mark the first time in nearly a century that two nations have competed for leadership as equals. Chart shows change in technological standing for selected nations from 1993 to 2007. 300 dpi Hi-Res Version The study’s indicators predict that China will soon pass the United States in the critical ability to develop basic science and technology, turn those developments into products and services – and then market them to the world. Though China is often seen as just a low-cost producer of manufactured goods, the new “High Tech Indicators” study done by researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology clearly shows that the Asian powerhouse has much bigger aspirations. “For the first time in nearly a century, we see leadership in basic research and the economic ability to pursue the benefits of that research – to create and market products based on research – in more than one place on the planet,” said Nils Newman, co-author of the National Science Foundation-supported study. “Since World War II, the United States has been the main driver of the global economy. Now we have a situation in which technology products are going to be appearing in the marketplace that were not developed or commercialized here. We won’t have had any involvement with them and may not even know they are coming.” Georgia Tech has been gathering the high tech indicators since the mid-1980s, when the concern was which country would be the “next Japan” as a competitive producer and exporter of technology products. The current “HTI-2007” information was gathered for use in the NSF’s biennial report, “Science and Engineering Indicators,” the most recent of which was released January 15. Georgia Tech’s “High Tech Indicators” study ranks 33 nations relative to one another on “technological standing,” an output factor that indicates each nation’s recent success in exporting high technology products. Four major input factors help build future technological standing: national orientation toward technological competitiveness, socioeconomic infrastructure, technological infrastructure and productive capacity. Each of the indicators is based on a combination of statistical data and expert opinions. A chart showing change in the technological standing of the 33 nations is dominated by one feature – a long and continuous upward line that shows China moving from “in the weeds” to world technological leadership over the past 15 years. The 2007 statistics show China with a technological standing of 82.8, compared to 76.1 for the United States, 66.8 for Germany and 66.0 for Japan. Just 11 years ago, China’s score was only 22.5. The United States peaked in 1999 with a score of 95.4. “China has really changed the world economic landscape in technology,” said Alan Porter, another study co-author and co-director of the Georgia Tech Technology Policy and Assessment Center, which conducted the research. “When you take China’s low-cost manufacturing and focus on technology, then combine them with the increasing emphasis on research and development, the result ultimately won’t leave much room for other countries.” The United States and Japan have both fallen in relative technological standing – though not absolute measures – because of the dramatic rise of China and other nations such as the “Asian Tigers:” South Korea, Singapore and Taiwan. Japan has faltered a bit over time, and if the increasingly-integrated European Union were considered one entity instead of 27 separate countries, it would surpass the United States. “We are seeing consistent gains for China across all the criteria we measure,” Newman said. “As a percentage mover relative to everyone else, we have not seen a stumble for China. The gains have been dramatic, and there is no real sense that any kind of leveling off is occurring.” Most industrialized countries reach a kind of equilibrium in the study, moving up slightly in one data set, or down slightly in another. But the study shows no interruptions in China’s advance. Recent statistics for the value of technology products exported – a key component of technological standing – put China behind the United States by the amount of “a rounding error:” about $100 million. If that trend continues, Newman noted, China will shortly pass the United States in that measure of technological leadership. China’s emphasis on training scientists and engineers – who conduct the research needed to maintain technological competitiveness – suggests it will continue to grow its ability to innovate. In the United States, the training of scientists and engineers has lagged, and post-9/11 immigration barriers have kept out international scholars who could help fill the gap. “For scientists and engineers, China now has less than half as many as we do, but they have a lot of growing room,” noted Newman. “It would be difficult for the United States to get much better in this area, and it would be very easy for us to get worse. It would be very easy for the Chinese to get better because they have more room to maneuver.” China is becoming a leader in research and development, Porter noted. For instance, China now leads the world in publications on nanotechnology, though U.S. papers still receive more citations. On the input indicators calculated for 2007, China lags behind the United States. In “national orientation,” China won a score of 62.6, compared to 78.0 for the United States. In “socioeconomic infrastructure,” China rated 61.2, compared to 87.9 for the United States. In the other two factors, China also was behind the U.S., 60.0 versus 95.5 for “technological infrastructure” and 85.2 versus 93.4 for “productive capacity.” China has been dramatically improving its input scores, which portends even stronger technological competitiveness in the future. “It’s like being 40 years old and playing basketball against a competitor who’s only 12 years old – but is already at your height,” Newman said. “You are a little better right now and have more experience, but you’re not going to squeeze much more performance out. The future clearly doesn’t look good for the United States.” Research News & Publications Office Georgia Institute of Technology 75 Fifth Street, N.W., Suite 100 Atlanta, Georgia 30308 USA http://www.gatech.edu/newsroom/release.html?id=1682
What is a policy document and how do you make one? For my Information Technology class, we have been asked to write a policy document for a 'home help' company. I have searched 'policy document' but what i found confused me more as to what i'm suppose to do as there were many different definitions... Our company responds to all computer related problems, either over the phone, at their home or via email. If anyone can help to explain, or give me a link to a website, what a policy document is and what type i'm suppose to create for this course it would be very appreciated :)
What should Obama do first? What do you think the first four actions taken by the new administration should be next year? I suggest 1) new stimulus and recovery package 2) reform the financial regulation to save Wall St from itself 3) rescind the global gag rule 4) appoint a National Science Adviser equivalent to the National Security Adviser to deal with Information Technology, Energy Policy, Environmental Issues, etc.
An insurance company introduced a pay as you drive insurance policy. Who is the maker of the gps device? I've searched the web but can't find the information anywhere. The insurance company licenced the pay as you drive technology from a US company. What with a recent report out on road congestion, this means that a gps type device would need to be fitted to every car to track the distance travelled, where and when the car went. Who are the manufacturers of these devices? Thankyou for your responses. I have found out that the in-car device used by Norwich Union is Traffic Master.
Does anyone have an informative letter or email to employees detailing an Internet usage policy? I am the director of human resources for WidgetCorp. WidgetCorp’s director of information technology recently came to me with concerns regarding employees’ use of the Internet for personal reasons on company time. Such usage problems have included time spent shopping, checking personal e-mail or social networking sites (such as Facebook or MySpace), reading news sites or blogs, and even job searching. As well, a number of employees have taken to listening to the radio online, which is distracting for nearby co-workers but also results in increased bandwidth usage, costing the company money. WidgetCorp’s unwritten policy has been to overlook these types of personal usage as long as such activities did not interfere with employees’ productivity. However, it’s clear the time has come to develop and enforce a company-wide Internet usage policy. The company’s president agrees, but has requested that the new policy make reasonable allowance for personal usage during employee breaks and lunch hours, when employees are technically “off the clock.” I now need write a memo to all employees informing them of the new policy and its details. The policy will take effect 4 weeks after you issue the email. ******Does anyone have a letter like this for your company?

CEO of Intel vs OBAMA? Will you libs blame Republicans for being jobless? Otellini's remarks during dinner at the Technology Policy Institute's Aspen Forum here amounted to a warning to the administration officials and assorted Capitol Hill aides in the audience: Unless government policies are altered, he predicted, "the next big thing will not be invented here. Jobs will not be created here." Intel CEO Paul Otellini (Credit: CNET) The U.S. legal environment has become so hostile to business, Otellini said, that there is likely to be "an inevitable erosion and shift of wealth, much like we're seeing today in Europe--this is the bitter truth." Not long ago, Otellini said, "our research centers were without peer. No country was more attractive for start-up capital... We seemed a generation ahead of the rest of the world in information technology. That simply is no longer the case." The phenomenon of technology executives advancing dismal predictions and offering pointed critiques of Washington politicking isn't new, of course. For instance: In 2005, midway through the Bush administration, Microsoft's Bill Gates told a Washington audience that curbs on immigration and guest workers would provide a boost to research institutions in China and India. A year earlier, then-Intel CEO Craig Barrett warned that the U.S. must dramatically improve its education system. That never happened. Nor did politicians follow Gates' advice to rethink laws that led to foreign engineers being kicked out of the country as soon as they finish their degrees. And now, six years later with no significant reforms, it should come as no surprise that the predictions have become more dire.

Do you think it is good English written by native speaker? I am reading an article. Sometime I feel it is a good article, and sometime I feel that it is a bit strange. The most important thing for me is to know if it is native speaker's language. Otherwise, it might be just a waste of time if I work hard on it. Quote: Newness, a preoccupation with the unknown, a twinning of heralded benefits and fears of danger, is one trope of restructuring that is evident throughout the process of legal and policy transformation. Every candidate for new information technology has invited a superheated rhetoric of millennial social change, a ballooning of the claims Hardy made in his precise description of the effect of the harmonium. When wireless radio technology was introduced in the first decades of the twentieth century, world peace was said to be only a turn of the dial away. The New York Times wrote: “Nothing so fosters and promotes a mutual undestanding and a community of sentiment and interests as cheap, speedy, and convenient communication.” many thanks to everyone who made your points of views. Especially to Jude and Antipode. I can speak English althought I am not living in UK, or USA. I even wrote my diploma in English, but I am not satisfied. I still feel that my English is too much of speaking style. I want to write a very good English, for the sake of business communication in my work. That's why I must know what I read is good English, better from native author, which makes me feel same. It is more promising. sorry, mistyping. ...which makes me feel safe...( not same, surely not ) Thanks to Lan. Unfortunately, I can not choose my native. If I could do it, it would be extremely difficult. It is funny that many people make themselves to be immigrant even they just paid once visit to Canada, or Australia, by bus tour. This is irrational if you do not really know this country. I am still confused about what you said. The difference between foreign language and second language? How do you define it? In Finland, most people speak Swedish, so it is their second language. For me, living in Asia, Swedish could be foreign language, if I start to learn it. Right? Thanks to Dolphinsandlivingher. You are just making the point. I need to identify the article if it was written by a well-educated person, or a guy who was trying to make himself sound well-educated. I used to have a professor from Iraq, taking a thick dictionary with him everytime he needs to write. He replaced all easy words by the most weird ones. At the beginning, we foreign students do not know this trick and believe he is cool untill a day some native students burst to laugh. However, some article is not meant to be read by the public. The one I quoted is actually part of diploma work of a PHD student. Unfortunately, I am a little one struggling for living. Image is important in business, and I do not want to be taken as one with poor education. Taht is why I have interests with a bit sophisticated language.

Possible future energy policy?? [sources wanted more than opinions]? last December, the Department of Energy [yes, Americans] announced that their contractor [Boeing] had achieved 41% theoretical efficiency in a solar cell type device. This is a new record efficiency. As best I can determine from the press releases [anyone got better information?], the technology involved is an optical grade plastic lens mounted over a semiconductor. The whole fractures light into spectra [like a prism] and each color is then directed to a specific highly efficient conversion array [they are stacked vertically and transparent to other colors than their target]. It seems to me that Moore's Law and the other scale economies of plastic and electronic manufacturing should apply to this device and we might then see them become economicly viable in about 20 years. If that last is true, your house's roof could produce all the electricity it'll ever need and at lower cost than fossil fuels or nuclear plants. any sources say yea or nay?? the idea could be extended. Use solar panels to produce hydrogen in the daytime by electrolysis of water. use the hydrogen to power the house at night [fuel cells] as well as your car [more fuel cells]. Voila! for local driving, you never need a fuel station again. the fuel is produced in your garage and needs no external energy source. the water produced by the fuel cell can be recycled to the electrolysis station, thus requiring little or no added water [works in desert areas, too]. {Note: the energy density used in industry and offices probably makes this whole system impractical for business use; not enough available roof space.} *** If you were President, how much would you be willing to bet on [invest in] this possible long run solution for America's consumer energy needs?

I am tired of our tech department reading our faculty email at ourpublic school. Are there any legal options? Or at least can you think of a way to annoy these techs (without me getting in trouble)? We write a emails to each other, and the techs refer to them in conversations! They are not only reading our email, but using the information. It is allowable by school policy, but this is insane. We are working for the government - does the 4th amendment apply to technology departments of school district? Minnesota has been among the top two states since 1990. Vermont is ranked second this year and has consistently moved up in the rankings for the last five years. New Hampshire is number three, followed by Utah, Hawaii and North Dakota. Mississippi is 50th and the least healthy state, while Louisiana is 49th. Tennessee, South Carolina and Arkansas complete the bottom five states. Minnesota is first this year, a position it has held for 10 of the 16 years since the 1990 Edition. Minnesota’s strengths include ranking first for a low rate of cardiovascular deaths, a low premature death rate and a low percentage of uninsured population. It is also in the top five states for a low percentage of children in poverty, a low total mortality rate, a low infant mortality rate, a low occupational fatalities rate, a low rate of motor vehicle deaths and a high rate of high school graduation. Minnesota’s biggest challenges are a high prevalence of smoking at 20.7 percent of the population, a high prevalence of obesity at 22.6 percent of the population and limited access to adequate prenatal care with 75.8 percent of pregnant women receiving adequate prenatal care. Mississippi is 50th this year, down from 49th in the 2004 Edition. It has been in the bottom three states since the 1990 Edition. The state ranks well in all three health policy measures: 8th for access to adequate prenatal care, which is available to 81.8 percent of pregnant women; 11th for per capita public health spending, at $197 per person; and 14th for immunization coverage, with 84.0 percent of children ages 19 to 35 months receiving complete immunizations. It ranks in the bottom five states on nine of the 18 measures: a high premature death rate, a high infant mortality rate, a high total mortality rate, a high rate of cardiovascular deaths, a high percentage of children in poverty, a high prevalence of obesity, a high rate of motor vehicle deaths, a high occupational fatalities rate, and a high number of limited activity days. It also ranks in the bottom 10 states for two other measures. Table 4 lists the score and ranking for each of the 50 states. Scores presented in the tables indicate the percentage a state is above or below the national norm. For example, a state with a score of 20 is 20 percent above the national average for that component. A negative score means the state is below the national average. When comparing states from year to year, differences in score are more important than changes in ranking. is all this information correct? Good _________ 8H and Mr. Clare, this morning I will be having a presentation on Peter Douglas Beattie. This Presentation will cover his biographical information, career background, his successes, possible criticisms and the inspiration for this person. Peter Douglas Beattie was born on the 18th November 1952 at Atherton, a small town nearly 2000km from Brisbane. He was raised by his grandmother and was the youngest of 7 children. Peter Beattie grew up to be quite a sports and drama fanatic playing cricket, rugby and hockey, he was involved in such plays as Gilbert and Sullivan as well as Pirates of Penzance. He was also a keen scout, he would roam the streets with 12 fellow scouts looking for good deeds and also enjoyed climbing Mt. Baldy. He was very successful at school being the Dux and School Captain at Atherton State High School, there he met Heather Scott-Halliday and later married her, they currently have three grown up children, Dennis and Matthew who are both 22 and Elizabeth who is 24. Beattie then moved to Brisbane where he graduated with a law degree from the University of Queensland, earned a Master of Arts degree from the Queensland University of Technology and then entered the practise of law. He supported himself through uni by working as a taxi driver and in a canning factory. His qualifications now include a B.A, LL.B and M.A. Then In 1974 he joined the labor party which he had been in opposition for 17 years. He is also a part of many diverse groups such as the Greek Club, Lions, Queensland Rugby League Club, New farm Neighbourhood Centre, Chinese business Club, The Society of St. Andrews and Queensland association for mental Health. He already sounds like the perfect politician. Peter Beattie has achieved many political successes which the ‘Queensland Labor Times’ describes as ‘A Dynamic Decade’. Peter Beattie was interested in economics, health, local government, housing, criminal law reform, transport, heritage, town planning, urban planning, and inner city development. With all the interests you’d think that he’d be less talk more do however he has made many factual accomplishments such as the water grid, the water pipe coming from Cairns, free health system, he abolished the ambulance levy, created a superior Criminal Justice System and created the ‘Smart State’ license plate. In 1997, Peter Beattie released the Community JobsPlan – a major job creation program, then in 1998 Peter Beattie won 44 out of 89 seats in the June state elections and on the 26th of June Peter Beattie became Premier of Queensland, this was a major turning point for the labor party. Economically, Queensland prospered like never before with Peter Beattie as Premier. When he announced his policy in 1998 to bring unemployment fewer than 5%, he was given little chance. On the environment, perhaps his greatest achievement was to ban land-clearing in the state, a decision which is almost single-handedly responsible for Australia. Peter Beattie also built the giant new park at Lang Stadium while liberalising Queensland’s gay sex, liquor licensing and prostitution laws quietly in the background. Peter Beattie really has changed Queensland into a smart state. Peter Beattie isn’t perfect, all of you could agree, there has been certain things that Peter Beattie has done that have aggravated certain people. Many people have disagreed with Beattie’s handling with the Dr. Haneef case, John Howard accused Beattie of leading a political campaign against the police handling the case. Beattie ignored Queensland’s water crisis until it was almost too late, basically praying for rain and not doing anything for Queensland for a period of time. Peter Beattie appeals more to the ‘Dead, White Male’ as he hasn’t at all connected with minorities or was willing to help them. Peter Beattie really hasn’t at all done that much to seem like a nuisance to anyone. Role Models are important because they boost children’s self esteem, help them to build models and positive values, teach children to set attainable goals and provide achieving their goals. Peter Beattie has accomplished many things, such as community awareness, economic, and infrastructure development. I think the person most inspired by him would be his daughter, Elizabeth. If all Australian’s role model was Peter Beattie I think the world would be an ideal place to reside. Peter Beattie has changed the world so much and if everyone was like him just imagine what would happen. Ultimately, Peter Beattie’s premiership will be looked be back upon as a series of crises interspersed with many election victories. On the 10th of September 2007, Peter Beattie resigned as Premier at a Cabinet meeting; he spent 9 years as premier making Queensland better.

How do you Feel about Israel spying on the US? Since the late 1990s, federal agents have reported systemic communications security breaches at the Department of Justice, FBI, DEA, the State Department, and the White House. Several of the alleged breaches, these agents say, can be traced to two hi-tech communications companies, Verint Inc. (formerly Comverse Infosys), and Amdocs Ltd., that respectively provide major wiretap and phone billing/record-keeping software contracts for the U.S. government. Together, Verint and Amdocs form part of the backbone of the government’s domestic intelligence surveillance technology. Both companies are based in Israel – having arisen to prominence from that country’s cornering of the information technology market – and are heavily funded by the Israeli government, with connections to the Israeli military and Israeli intelligence (both companies have a long history of board memberships dominated by current and former Israeli military and intelligence officers). Verint is considered the world leader in “electronic interception” and hence an ideal private sector candidate for wiretap outsourcing. Amdocs is the world’s largest billing service for telecommunications, with some $2.8 billion in revenues in 2007, offices worldwide, and clients that include the top 25 phone companies in the United States that together handle 90 percent of all call traffic among U.S. residents. The companies’ operations, sources suggest, have been infiltrated by freelance spies exploiting encrypted trapdoors in Verint/Amdocs technology and gathering data on Americans for transfer to Israeli intelligence and other willing customers (particularly organized crime). “The fact of the vulnerability of our telecom backbone is indisputable,” says a high level U.S. intelligence officer who has monitored the fears among federal agents. “How it came to pass, why nothing has been done, who has done what – these are the incendiary questions.” If the allegations are true, the electronic communications gathered up by the NSA and other U.S. intelligence agencies might be falling into the hands of a foreign government. Reviewing the available evidence, Robert David Steele, a former CIA case officer and today one of the foremost international proponents for “public intelligence in the public interest,” tells me that “Israeli penetration of the entire US telecommunications system means that NSA's warrantless wiretapping actually means Israeli warrantless wiretapping.” As early as 1999, the National Security Agency issued a warning that records of U.S. government telephone calls were ending up in foreign hands – Israel’s, in particular. In 2002, assistant U.S. Attorney General Robert F. Diegelman issued an eyes only memo on the matter to the chief information technology (IT) officers at the Department of Justice. IT officers oversee everything from the kind of cell phones agents carry to the wiretap equipment they use in the field; their defining purpose is secure communications. Diegelman’s memo was a reiteration, with overtones of reprimand, of a new IT policy instituted a year earlier, in July 2001, in an internal Justice order titled “2640.2D Information Technology Security.” Order 2640.2D stated that “Foreign Nationals shall not be authorized to access or assist in the development, operation, management or maintenance of Department IT systems.” This might not seem much to blink at in the post-9/11 intel and security overhaul. Yet 2640.2D was issued a full two months before the Sept. 11 attacks. What group or groups of foreign nationals had close access to IT systems at the Department of Justice? Israelis, according to officials in law enforcement. One former Justice Department computer crimes prosecutor tells me, speaking on background, “I’ve heard that the Israelis can listen in to our calls.” Retired CIA counterterrorism and counterintelligence officer Philip Giraldi says this is par for the course in the history of Israeli penetrations in the U.S. He notes that Israel always features prominently in the annual FBI report called “Foreign Economic Collection and Industrial Espionage” – Israel is second only to China in stealing U.S. business secrets. The 2005 FBI report states, for example, “Israel has an active program to gather proprietary information within the United States. These collection activities are primarily directed at obtaining information on military systems and advanced computing applications that can be used in Israel’s sizable armaments industry.” A key Israeli method, warns the FBI report, is computer intrusion. I am refering to the patriot act actually the NSA is who is spying and the companies they use are Israeli so The Israeli's are spying on america FOR the U.S government how stupid is that!
Did you know this Czar is ALSO a communist? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Obama czar's shocking communist connections Edited publication whose founders allegedly fed secrets to Soviet Union -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posted: March 03, 2010 9:07 pm Eastern By Aaron Klein © 2010 WorldNetDaily John Holdren John Holdren, President Obama's "science czar," served on the board of editors of a magazine whose personnel were accused of providing vital nuclear information that helped the Soviet Union build an atom bomb. The magazine, Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, has a long history of employing socialist and communist sympathizers, including during the time of Holdren's employment in 1984, reports the New Zeal blog. Holdren is assistant to the president for science and technology, director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and co-chairman of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists began publishing regularly in 1945, when it was founded by former physicists from the Manhattan Project, which developed the first atomic bomb. Two of the magazine's founding sponsors, Leo Szilard and Robert Oppenheimer, were accused of passing information from the Manhattan Project to the Soviets. Both were also key initiators of the Manhattan Project. In 1994, Pavel Sudoplatov, a former major-general in Soviet intelligence, named Szilard and Oppenheimer as key sources of crucial atomic information to the Soviet Union. "The most vital information for developing the first Soviet atomic bomb came from scientists engaged in the Manhattan Project to build the American atomic bomb – Robert Oppenheimer, Enrico Fermi and Leo Szilard," wrote Sudoplatov. WOW.... What a coincedence, another communist czar....bad luck for Obama...
how to say in japanese? In our country, we have an IT exam that is organized by IPA or JITEC of Japan. And that IT exam is the equivalent of "JOUHOUSHORI" exam of Japan, but I don't know how to say that I passed that exam and it is equivalent to the FE examination of JOUHOUSHORI (I know it is the fundamental exam, but most company here do have a policy of hiring anyone who passed that IT exam). I passed (Japan Information Technology Standards Examination) which is equivalent to Jouhoushori FE exam in Japan. additionally, how do i say I also passed a national licensure examination. I would really appreciate your help. まだ日本語がんばらないと。。。 T_T 宜しくお願いします。 oh, this is quite long and detailed. I'm not sure if there is something written on our certificate, though I'm really sure they are acknowledged by IPA of Japan, since it is written on their website, but it doesn't say anything (the certificate) that it is equivalent to that, and oftentimes I'm having a hard time explaining it.

Gr. 10 Course Crisis please help!!!? Hi, school is starting in a few days. Last year we chose what courses we wanted to take this year and one of the electives I chose was Information Technology 10. At that time, I thought it was a good idea, but I've heard from various people that it's an extremely difficult course and the teacher is terrible at teaching. I've also tried downloading one of the programs that is used during information technology and I tried it, but it was very hard. I know this course isn't for me. Today I went to the counsellar at school and asked if I could drop that course. She said "this year we have a new policy, no courses are allowed to be dropped, switched, or changed unless you have an incomplete timetable. I was devastated! I know I'm going to fail Information Technology 10 because I tried it and I'm no good at it. Every year I always make it to the honor roll and sometimes the principal's list and with a low grade in this course, I won't be able to make it. What should I do? Is there a way I can drop this course?
Is this really the future of airport security in the United States? What do you think of these ideas that could "shape the future of airline security"?? (According to Associated Press) http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100108/ap_on_re_us/us_airport_security_the_future MIND READERS The aim of one company that blends high technology and behavioral psychology is hinted at in its name, WeCU — as in "We See You." The system that Israeli-based WeCU Technologies has devised and is testing in Israel projects images onto airport screens, such as symbols associated with a certain terrorist group or some other image only a would-be terrorist would recognize, said company CEO Ehud Givon. The logic is that people can't help reacting, even if only subtly, to familiar images that suddenly appear in unfamiliar places. If you strolled through an airport and saw a picture of your mother, Givon explained, you couldn't help but respond............ LIE DETECTORS One system being studied by Homeland Security is called the Future Attribute Screening Technology, or FAST, and works like a souped-up polygraph. It would subject people pulled aside for additional screening to a battery of tests, including scans of facial movements and pupil dilation, for signs of deception. Small platforms similar to the balancing boards used in the Nintendo Wii would help detect fidgeting. ..................... THE ISRAELI MODEL Some say the U.S. should take a page from Israel's book on security. At Israeli airports, widely considered the most secure in the world, travelers are subjected to probing personal questions as screeners look them straight in the eye for signs of deception. Searches are meticulous, with screeners often scrutinizing every item in a bag, unfolding socks, squeezing toothpaste and flipping through books. ..................... PROFILING Some argue that policies against profiling undermine security. Baum, who is also managing director of Green Light Limited, a London-based aviation security company, agrees profiling based on race and religion is counterproductive and should be avoided. But he argues that a reluctance to distinguish travelers on other grounds — such as their general appearance or their mannerisms — is not only foolhardy but dangerous. ....................... PRIVATIZATION What if security were left to somebody other than the federal government? Jim Harper, director of information policy studies at the Washington-based Cato Institute, a free-market-oriented think tank, says airlines should be allowed take charge of security at airports. Especially since 9/11, the trend has been toward standardizing security procedures to ensure all airports follow the best practices. But Harper argues that decentralizing the responsibility would result in a mix of approaches — thereby making it harder for terrorists to use a single template in planning attacks. ...............................
What is the difference between a M.S graduate degree and a Masters graduate degree ? Some colleges and universities in the U.S. name their graduate degrees as M.S in "abc " eg) M.S., in Computer Science, M.S., in Information Technology and M.S., in Software Engineriing while some "only" name these deegrees as Master of "abc" eg) Master of Information Systems, Master of Information Technology and Master of in Software Engineriing What is the difference between between a grduate degree being called as Master of "abc" and M.S in "abc "? Is the difference between those graduate degrees which do not have pre-requisite courses being called as Master of "abc" and those with a requirement of pre-requisite courses calling as M.S in "abc "? Or their is no difference whatsoever in this nomenclature? Its is just a University and College policy to name their particular graduate degree as M.S in "abc " and Master of "abc"? Can anyone throw some light on this?
Study Shows China as World Technology Leader? http://www.gatech.edu/newsroom/release.html?id=1682 Technology indicators show China ahead of the U.S. in technological standing Atlanta (January 24, 2008) —A new study of worldwide technological competitiveness suggests China may soon rival the United States as the principal driver of the world’s economy – a position the U.S. has held since the end of World War II. The future clearly doesn’t look good for the United States.” Research News & Publications Office Georgia Institute of Technology 75 Fifth Street, N.W., Suite 100 Atlanta, Georgia 30308 USA

help i have no idea wat this means some body explain in short text 10 points best answer in plain explantion? Overview Instant messaging (IM) and chat are technologies that facilitate near real-time text based communication between two or more participants over a network. It is important to understand that what separates chat and instant messaging from technologies such as e-mail is the perceived synchronicity of the communication by the user - Chat happens in real-time before your eyes. For this reason, some people consider communication via instant messaging to be less intrusive than communication via phone. However, some systems allow the sending of messages to people not currently logged on (offline messages), thus removing much of the difference between Instant Messaging and e-mail. Instant Messaging allows instantaneous communication between a number of parties simultaneously, by transmitting information quickly. Some IM systems allow users to use webcams and Microphone which made them more popular than others. Due to this feature users can have a real-time conversation. In addition IM has additional features such as: the immediate receipt of acknowledgment or reply, group chatting, conference services (including voice and video), conversation logging and file transfer. IM allows effective and efficient communication, featuring immediate receipt of acknowledgment or reply. In certain cases Instant Messaging involves additional features, which make it even more popular, i.e. to see the other party, e.g. by using web-cams, or to talk directly for free over the Internet. It is possible to save a conversation for later reference. Instant messages are typically logged in a local message history which closes the gap to the persistent nature of e-mails and facilitates quick exchange of information like URLs or document snippets (which can be unwieldy when communicated via telephone). [edit] History In early instant messaging programs each character appeared when it was typed. The UNIX "talk" command shown in these screenshots was popular in the 1980s and early 1990s.Instant messaging actually predates the Internet, first appearing on multi-user operating systems like CTSS and Multics[1] in the mid-1960s. Initially, many of these systems, such as CTSS'.SAVED, were used as notification systems for services like printing, but quickly were used to facilitate communication with other users logged in to the same machine. As networks developed, the protocols spread with the networks. Some of these used a peer-to-peer protocol (eg talk, ntalk and ytalk), while others required peers to connect to a server (see talker and IRC). During the Bulletin board system (BBS) phenomenon that peaked during the 1980s, some systems incorporated chat features which were similar to instant messaging; Freelancin'_Roundtable was one prime example. In the last half of the 1980s and into the early 1990s, the Quantum Link online service for Commodore 64 computers offered user-to-user messages between currently connected customers which they called "On-Line Messages" (or OLM for short). Quantum Link's better known later incarnation, America Online, offers a similar product under the name "AOL Instant Messages" (AIM). While the Quantum Link service ran on a Commodore 64, using only the Commodore's PETSCII text-graphics, the screen was visually divided up into sections and OLMs would appear as a yellow bar saying "Message From:" and the name of the sender along with the message across the top of whatever the user was already doing, and presented a list of options for responding.[2] As such, it could be considered a sort of GUI, albeit much more primitive than the later Unix, Windows and Macintosh based GUI IM programs. OLMs were what Q-Link called "Plus Services" meaning they charged an extra per-minute fee on top of the monthly Q-Link access costs. Modern, Internet-wide, GUI-based messaging clients, as they are known today, began to take off in the mid 1990s with ICQ (1996) being the first, followed by AOL Instant Messenger (AOL Instant Messenger, 1997). AOL later acquired Mirabilis, the creators of ICQ. A few years later ICQ (by now owned by AOL) was awarded two patents for instant messaging by the U.S. patent office. Meanwhile, other companies developed their own applications (Excite, MSN, Ubique, and Yahoo), each with its own proprietary protocol and client; users therefore had to run multiple client applications if they wished to use more than one of these networks. In 1998 IBM released IBM Lotus Sametime, a product based on technology acquired when IBM bought Haifa-based Ubique and Lexington-based Databeam. In 2000, an open source application and open standards-based protocol called Jabber was launched. Jabber servers could act as gateways to other IM protocols, reducing the need to run multiple clients. Multi-protocol clients such as Digsby,Pidgin, Trillian, Adium and Miranda can use any of the popular IM protocols by using additional local libraries for each protocol. IBM Lotus Sametime's November 2007 release added IBM Lotus Sametime Gateway support for XMPP. Recently, many instant messaging services have begun to offer video conferencing features, Voice Over IP (VoIP) and web conferencing services. Web conferencing services integrate both video conferencing and instant messaging capabilities. Some newer instant messaging companies are offering desktop sharing, IP radio, and IPTV to the voice and video features. The term "instant messenger" is a service mark of Time Warner[3] and may not be used in software not affiliated with AOL in the United States. For this reason, the instant messaging client formerly known as Gaim or gaim announced in April 2007 that they would be renamed "Pidgin"[4]. [edit] Cooperation Standard free instant messaging applications offer functions like file transfer, contact lists, the ability to have similtaneous converstations etc. These may be all the functions that a small business needs but larger organisations will require more sophisticated applications that can work together. The solution to finding applications capable of this is to use enterprise versions of instant messaging applications. These include titles like Jabber, Lotus Sametime, Microsoft Office Communicator, etc., which are often integrated with other enterprise applications such as workflow systems. These enterprise applications, or Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), are built to certain constraints, namely storing data in a common format. There have been several attempts to create a unified standard for instant messaging: IETF's SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) and SIMPLE (SIP for Instant Messaging and Presence Leveraging Extensions), APEX (Application Exchange), Prim (Presence and Instant Messaging Protocol), the open XML-based XMPP (Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol), more commonly known as Jabber and OMA's (Open Mobile Alliance) IMPS (Instant Messaging and Presence Service) created specifically for mobile devices. Most attempts at creating a unified standard for the major IM providers (AOL, Yahoo! and Microsoft) have failed and each continues to use its own proprietary protocol. However, while discussions at IETF were stalled, Reuters head of collaboration services, David Gurle (the founder of Microsoft's Real Time Communication and Collaboration business), signed the first inter-service provider connectivity agreement on September 2003. This agreement enabled AIM, ICQ and MSN Messenger users to talk with Reuters Messaging counterparts and vice-versa against an access fee. Following this, Microsoft, Yahoo! and AOL came to a deal where Microsoft's Live Communication Server 2005 users would also have the possibility to talk to public instant messaging users. This deal established SIP/SIMPLE as a standard for protocol interoperability and established a connectivity fee for accessing public instant messaging clouds. Separately, on October 13, 2005 Microsoft and Yahoo! announced that by (the Northern Hemisphere) summer of 2006 they would interoperate using SIP/SIMPLE which is followed on December 2005 by the AOL and Google strategic partnership deal where Google Talk users would be able to talk with AIM and ICQ users provided they have an identity at AOL. There are two ways to combine the many disparate protocols: One way is to combine the many disparate protocols inside the IM client application. The other way is to combine the many disparate protocols inside the IM server application. This approach moves the task of communicating to the other services to the server. Clients need not know or care about other IM protocols. For example, LCS 2005 Public IM Connectivity. This approach is popular in Jabber/XMPP servers however the so-called transport projects suffer the same reverse engineering difficulties as any other project involved with closed protocols or formats. Some approaches, such as that adopted by the Sonork enterprise IM software or the Jabber/XMPP network or Winpopup LAN Messenger, allow organizations to create their own private instant messaging network by enabling them to limit access to the server (often with the IM network entirely behind their firewall) and administer user permissions. Other corporate messaging systems allow registered users to also connect from outside the corporation LAN, by using a secure firewall-friendly HTTPS based protocol. Typically, a dedicated corporate IM server has several advantages such as pre-populated contact lists, integrated authentication, and better security and privacy. Some networks have made changes to prevent them from being utilized by such multi-network IM clients. For example, Trillian had to release several revisions and patches to allow its users to access the MSN, AOL, and Yahoo! networks, after changes were made to these networks. The major IM providers typically cite the need for formal agreements as well as security concerns as reasons for making these changes. [edit] Mobile Instant Messaging Mobile Instant Messaging (MIM) is a presence enabled messaging service that aims to transpose the desktop messaging experience to the usage scenario of being on the move. While several of the core ideas of the desktop experience on one hand apply to a connected mobile device, others do not: Users usually only look at their phone's screen — presence status changes might occur under different circumstances as happens at the desktop, and several functional limits exist based on the fact that the vast majority of mobile communication devices are chosen by their users to fit into the palm of their hand. Some of the form factor and mobility related differences need to be taken into account in order to create a really adequate, powerful and yet convenient mobile experience: radio bandwidth, memory size, availability of media formats, keypad based input, screen output, CPU performance and battery power are core issues that desktop device users and even nomadic users with connected network. [edit] Friend-to-friend networks Instant Messaging may be done in a Friend-to-friend network, in which each node connects to the friends on the friendslist. This allows for communication with friends of friends and for the building of chatrooms for instant messages with all friends on that network. Emotions are often expressed in shorthand. For example; lol. But a movement is currently underway to be more accurate with the emotional expression. Real time reactions such as (chortle) (snort) (guffaw) or (eye-roll) are rapidly taking the place of acronyms.[citation needed] [edit] Business application Instant messaging has proven to be similar to personal computers, e-mail, and the WWW, in that its adoption for use as a business communications medium was driven primarily by individual employees using consumer software at work, rather than by formal mandate or provisioning by corporate information technology departments. Tens of millions of the consumer IM accounts in use are being used for business purposes by employees of companies and other organizations. In response to the demand for business-grade IM and the need to ensure security and legal compliance, a new type of instant messaging, called "Enterprise Instant Messaging" ("EIM") was created when Lotus Software launched IBM Lotus Sametime in 1998. Microsoft followed suit shortly thereafter with Microsoft Exchange Instant Messaging, later created a new platform called Microsoft Office Live Communications Server, and released Office Communications Server 2007 in October 2007. Both IBM Lotus and Microsoft have introduced federation between their EIM systems and some of the public IM networks so that employees may use a single interface to both their internal EIM system and their contacts on AOL, MSN, and Yahoo!. Current leading EIM platforms include IBM Lotus Sametime, Microsoft Office Communications Server, and Jabber XCP. In addition, industry-focused EIM platforms such as IMtrader from Pivot Incorporated, Reuters Messaging, and Bloomberg Messaging provide enhanced IM capabilities to financial services companies. The adoption of IM across corporate networks outside of the control of IT organizations creates risks and liabilities for companies who do not effectively manage and support IM use. Companies implement specialized IM archiving and security products and services like those from Secure Computing, Akonix, SurfControl, and ScanSafe to mitigate these risks and provide safe, secure, productive instant messaging capabilities to their employees. [edit] Practical Use in Enterprise The popular embrace of IM technology for sharing information has quickly led to organizations adopting IM solutions for the perceived advantages that can be brought by it. As organizations are becoming more information based (McNurlin & Sprague, 2006, p.499) the need for effective knowledge sharing, team working and collaborative environments amongst employees has become vital, especially within more geographically dispersed teams. Typically IM conversations tend to have a certain "character", they are often short and only cover one topic. Media-switching and multitasking are common throughout, however IM might also be used between established coworkers and friends for longer, more intermittent conversation. In their report of IM use at the workplace Nardi et al. (2000) identifies the four primary functions of IM which are often cited in other reports, These primary functions are: Quick Questions and Clarifications Coordinating and scheduling tasks Coordinating impromptu social meetings Keeping in touch with friends and family IM is perhaps best suited to "Quick Questions and Clarifications" as this is the most often mentioned attribute in other reports. A user can "respond rapidly without the overhead of telephone or FTF interaction. For example, IDC reports, "Users see IM as a medium for quick, semi-permanent ‘flashes’ that beg a near-immediate response" (Isaacs et al., 2002). Nardi's second and third observations are enabled in part due to the "Presence Awareness" feature of IM clients in which the user knows who is "available". This is the most relevant for colleagues who share the same physical space as each other and even paves the way for other mediums to take up the task of communication e.g. F2F or Phone. The implication is that viable communication of any sort can in someway be encouraged through IM's "Presence Awareness" feature. (Issacs et al, 2002) supports this view, "IM in business might not be the main tool for of communication, it could just be the meeting point for another type of media e.g. conference calls. Nardi's third and fourth observations focus on the social use of IM, which have also been widely publicized in other report. That IM is used for keeping in touch with friends and arranging social events has led some employers to believe that it is used primarily for this purpose. According to (Issacs et al, 2002) a market study found that "'Fear of losing employee productivity’ was the greatest concern of businesses in regards to instant messaging". The study by (Issacs et al, 2002) goes on to suggest this fear is unfounded as it was found that on average "only 13% of conversations contained personal topics", and "only 6.4% were exclusively personal". [edit] Review of Products "IM solutions can typically be catagorised into two types: Enterprise Instant Messaging (EIM) and Consumer Instant Mesaging (CIM). Enterprise solutions use an internal IM server, however this isn't always feasible, particularly for smaller businesses with limited budgets. The second option, using a (CIM) provides the advantage of being inexpensive to implement and has little need for investing in new hardware or server software. However, in recent years open source IM clients such as Jabber have emerged that provide free EIM grade solutions. (Wikipedia,. 2008) For corporate use encryption and conversation archiving are usually regarded as important features due to security concerns. Sometimes the use of different operating systems in organizations calls for the use of software that supports more than one platform. For example many software companies use Windows XP in administration departments but have software developers who use Linux. Most people have had experience of using online chat and messaging over the internet whether it is with Microsoft's Windows Live Messenger, Skype or e-mail. One form of chat and messaging currently popular is Bebo. It is a non-corporate form of messaging which allows its user to create and maintain a social network. Libraries use chat applications and Morris Messenger is an application commonly used by them. This is a power based instant messenger, which uses Perl, SQL, and small Java. It accepts input from both staff and regular customers and saves important information in an SQL database built for the system. [edit] Risks and liabilities Although instant messaging delivers many benefits, it also carries with it certain risks and liabilities, particularly when used in workplaces. Among these risks and liabilities are: Security risks (e.g. IM used to infect computers with spyware, viruses, trojans, worms) Compliance risks Inappropriate use Intellectual property leakage Crackers (malicious "hacker" or black hat hacker) have consistently used IM networks as vectors for delivering phishing attempts, "poison URL's", and virus-laden file attachments from 2004 to the present, with over 1100 discrete attacks listed by the IM Security Center[5] in 2004-2007. Hackers use two methods of delivering malicious code through IM: delivery of virus, trojan, or spyware within an infected file, and the use of "socially engineered" text with a web address that entices the recipient to click on a URL that connects him or her to a website that then downloads malicious code. Viruses, worms, and trojans typically propagate by sending themselves rapidly through the infected user's buddy list. An effective attack using a poison URL may reach tens of thousands of people in minutes when each person's buddy list receives messages appearing to be from a trusted friend. The recipients click on the web address, and the entire cycle starts again. Infections may range from nuisance to criminal, and are becoming more sophisticated each year. In addition to the malicious code threat, the use of instant messaging at work also creates a risk of non-compliance to laws and regulations governing the use of electronic communications in businesses. In the United States alone there are over 10,000 laws and regulations related to electronic messaging and records retention.[6] The more well-known of these include the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, HIPAA, and SEC 17a-3. Clarification from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority ("FINRA") was issued to member firms in the financial services industry in December, 2007, noting that "electronic communications", "email", and "electronic correspondence" may be used interchangeably and can include such forms of electronic messaging as instant messaging and text messaging.[7] Changes to Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, effective December 1, 2006, created a new category for electronic records which may be requested during discovery (law) in legal proceedings. Most countries around the world also regulate the use of electronic messaging and electronic records retention in similar fashion to the United States. The most common regulations related to IM at work involve the need to produce archived business communications to satisfy government or judicial requests under law. Many instant messaging communications fall into the category of business communications that must be archived and retrievable. Organizations of all types must protect themselves from the liability of their employees' inappropriate use of IM. The informal, immediate, and ostensibly anonymous nature of instant messaging makes it a candidate for abuse in the workplace. The topic of inappropriate IM use became front page news in October 2006 when Congressman Mark Foley resigned his seat after admitting sending offensive instant messages of a sexual nature to underage former House pages from his Congressional office PC. The Mark Foley Scandal led to media coverage and mainstream newspaper articles warning of the risks of inappropriate IM use in workplaces. In most countries, corporations have a legal responsibility to ensure harassment-free work environment for employees. The use of corporate-owned computers, networks, and software to harass an individual or spread inappropriate jokes or language creates a liability for not only the offender but also the employer. A survey by IM archiving and security provider Akonix Systems, Inc. in March 2007 showed that 31% of respondents had been harassed over IM at work.[8] Companies now include instant messaging as an integral component of their policies on appropriate use of the World Wide Web, e-mail, and other corporate assets. Within the company there is also the risk of employees using instant messaging to release confidential information and project details to an outside source. This issue is best controlled by a combination of written policy and technology. An organization's policies on use of IM in the workplace should be an integral part of the overall computing and network use policies, and should be published and communicated at least annually. In addition to written policy, organizations should implement "gateways" or IM security products to monitor content of inbound and outbound messages. Products from IM security providers (See section on IM security) typically allow administrators to set alerts and enforce policy (i.e. allow or block messages) based on keywords and regular expressions within instant messages. Employees may also misuse IM to communicate on a personal level with friends and family. This is poor use of a business’s time and resources, as the employee’s effectiveness will most certainly decrease due to the added distractions. (Licari, J., May 2005). Businesses often use IM security products to monitor and archive IM conversations for the purpose of minimizing this type of productivity drain. [edit] Security and archiving In the early 2000s, a new class of IT security provider emerged to provide remedies for the risks and liabilities faced by corporations who chose to use IM for business communications. The IM security providers created new products to be installed in corporate networks for the purpose of archiving, content-scanning, and security-scanning IM traffic moving in and out of the corporation. Similar to the e-mail filtering vendors, the IM security providers focus on the risks and liabilities described above. With rapid adoption of IM in the workplace, demand for IM security products began to grow in the mid-2000s. By 2007, the preferred platform for the purchase of security software had become the "appliance", according to IDC, who estimate that by 2008, 80% of network security products will be delivered via an appliance.[9] [edit] User base Note that many of the numbers listed in this section are not directly comparable, and some are speculative. Some instant messaging systems are distributed among many different instances and thus difficult to measure in total (e.g. Jabber). While some numbers are given by the owners of a complete instant messaging system, others are provided by commercial vendors of a part of a distributed system. Some companies may be motivated to inflate their numbers in order to increase advertisement earnings or to attract partners, clients, or customers. Importantly, some numbers are reported as the number of "active" users (without a shared standard of that activity), others indicate total user accounts, while others indicate only the users logged in during an instance of peak usage. Service User count Date/source AIM 53 million active September 2006 >100 million total January 2006 Jabber 40-50 million total January 2007, based on calculations of Jabber Inc 90 million total Based on calculations of Process-One: Process-One uses ejabberd as Jabber server software. How many people think that I speak logically and with reason and proof? You're not gonna find this information anywhere else. You'll find some really important information here as well.I try to speak logically and with reason and I expect logical answers without any prejudice. I believe that if you spend 10 minutes reading this essay, you will be better informed than if you listen to a lifetime's worth of Major Media news. This article has two parts: 1. Cultural and general info 2. Political info. Note: I've explained everything.Any answers before reading the whole thing will prove to be wrong. **** Hi. I'm a 19 Iranian who has spent his life in Iran.I study English. When I chat with people from other countries, I am shocked to see how totally wrong their ideas are about Iran. I wrote this article in an attempt to help correct those ideas. The first thing America, and the West in general, accuses our government of is that we don't allow personal freedoms. Actually, Iranians disobey laws they don't like as much as anyone. There are only a few restrictions. It's cool over here. People here do whatever they wish to! Many strict rules in other countries don't even exist in Iran. Also, you should understand that what may seem so normal to you, may be a nightmare for us and vise versa. Some of Iran's laws are based on OUR culture. You look at our country from "your own point of view"! In Iran every single house has a sattelite dish. Sattelite television has a serious influence on our people, and Iranians wear very fashionable clothing. Maybe it is a kind of imitation, but we still have our own unique Iranian style. A visitor might wonder if this is a country or a fantasy pageant of beauty queens! Almost women wear half their their hair out, and make-up and fashionable clothing are everywhere.I ignore a few fuddy-duddies though! You would be surprised to see the difference between what you imagine and what Iran really is! In my view, everything is great, if you ignore unemployment, inflation and air pollution. Also, you can't compare Iran today with the Iran you remember. The Shah and the Iatollah Khomini are both some 30 years in the past! 70% of Iran's population is a new generation (Under age 30) without the biases of the past and we've transformed everything. Ever heard Iranian girls are terrific?I've collected some photos showing Iranian girls! Look! Poeple are like this! http://www.salijoon.ir/bazigar/hedye%20tehrani/30nema4251159.JPG http://www.30nema.com/images/gallery/30nema4252403.jpg http://i10.tinypic.com/4clk3us.jpg http://tinypic.com/2d0nfao.jpg Enough proof? Some people think women don't have any rights in Iran. But in my view, women are overrunning the place. They're very respectful, and they've been the winners in so many cases: They get into the best universities because they're very smart. And they get the best jobs because they can do so many of them better than men. They've got Islamic rights, and that has in some cases made it difficult for men to marry them, because husbands are supposed to buy them expensive things and treat them very well, otherwise women have the right to ask a great amount of money (called Mehr) according to the law, which most husbands cannot afford, so men will be imprisoned. The only thing that women are not allowed to do in Iran is getting into public football stadiums and that's because such places are full of cheeky guys. They do anything from taking part in rallies to singing pop songs.Anything! I've put a sample here. Another funny thing: Your footage about stoning the women who have committed adultery. Have you ever asked yourselves how many years ago that footage related to? Are they balck and white or colourful? But in one case (related to many years ago) the thing that had happened was incest not adultery. Most of those footages are from Afghanistan which was ruled by freaks (Taliban). What exactly makes you think women are treated differently? The way they were/are treated in Saudi Arabia? Try to think of the racism in your country too. Each country has its own problems. Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan are --------- SEPERATE COUNTRIES! --------- Even within Iran, 60% of us are Persian and 30% are Turkish! Iran is a normal country like any other in the world. The Media are very good at creating really scary stuff: "IRAN BEHIND THE CLOSED DOORS!!!" "IRAN UNDERCOVER!!!" Some of that garbage would be enough to scare ME away! But in truth, Iranians are far more open-minded than you have been led to believe. There are lots of Iranians today who are geniuses and scientists, and are all under age 25. For instance a 17 year old boy has invented 72 amazing inventions. Every year a special scientific compeition is held here and students assemble to show off hundreds of inventions. Iranian students and sportsmen win gold and silver medals in different competitions in the world all the time, in robotics, biology, maths, physics, sports, anything! Why don't the Media talk about them? Please don't summarize our nation and culture with the single word "nuclear". Although we're proud of this achievement because we believe that having nuclear energy means that a country is developed.Did you know that the countries having the highest number of scientists in the world are in this order? 1-India 2-Korea 3-Iran A few months ago Iran uncovered the most effective anti-H.I.V medicine. I searched for news of that on the internet, but there was no single sign of it.Now, I found it among the English news: "The medicine is produced from herbs using nano technology" The link to read about it is: http://www.payvand.com/news/07/feb/1032.html The Media are unjust. They never talk about facts! Some interesting facts: Iran is a pioneer in medicine and genetics, and Iranian surgeons have found lots of new methods for treating spinal defects, and many diseases (mainly the treatment for different types of cancer) and the best brain and heart surgeons are Iranian. The head of the Mars Mission in NASA is Iranian. One of the best designers of sports cars working in Germany is Iranian. Some of the best 3D animators are Iranian. Iran is one of the best countries in counter-engineering. Holds the second place in building dams and in loads of other things! It's one of the top countries in bio-technology and nano-technology. It's now 2007 and most people still think we are uneducated people living in deserts, riding camels! Let's clarify some political issues as well: Some of the Americans think that president Ahmadinejad hates the U.S and Israel and wants to nuke them!! The Media are good at putting lying comments out there. I really don't get the point why our politicians defame themselves by talking about things that have got nothing to do with us. The thing is that they occasionally make some statements that the media would make them controversial topics to interest its viewers! For example they pick up some specific phrases of a long speech (without refering to the main points and reasons for that speech) and put so many bad comments on that. First of all, Iranians don't hate anyone. If our government complains about some injustice going on in the world, it's not bad, is it? (Although what we want from them is to shut up and not get us into trouble by talking about things that are none of our concern) We hate neither Jews nor Americans. How would our guys dream of America, want to be like them as much as possible, and hate them at the same time?! SECRET: Iranians are the only people in the Mid-East that are pro-American! Being agaisnt the U.S policies is a different story!I've got to say that for Iran, Israel is not equal with Jews! Israel is a gov't. Jews are faithful people! A few of them live here in our neighbourhood and they live just like the rest of Iranians. (20,000 Jews and lots of Christians live here! Iran's different!) And two of Iran's parliment members are Jews. Who says we want to force others to convert to Islam? Have you ever found a Muslim knocking at your door asking you to do so? Christians and Jews are both God-believers and respectful to us. In Iran, religion is one of the least important factors. Where you come from and what your religion is are not important to us at all. I wonder who Iran is really a threat to. Is it logical to say someone's guilty because we THINK / PREDICT that he's going to do something wrong? And they repeat the same "nuclear weapons" tosh over and over and brainwash people! Correction! It's "nuclear energy". Besides, how many "nuclear weapons" do they have themselves? Hundreds of thousands? Has Iran ever attacked any countries? No. Has it developed any nukes? No! That's what nuclear agency says. Only Iran's opponents are pulling Iran's leg and what they say is just based on political conflicts. What we're doing is legal. Iran is a peaceful country. Why? It's the regional super-power and if she wanted, she could easily invade the countries in our neibourhood just like what Saddam did to our country, but as you see Iran has peaceful relations with all of them. Some people say he said: Israel should be wiped off the map! the thing is that he exactly said: "The Imam "Khomeyni" said this regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time."They've only told you this phrase not the whole thing and it's mistranslated intentionally. Besides, they've been saying such things for a long time. It's their habit. Here's an article."Wiped off the map....The roumor of the century.Read how the media and the U.S newspapers have twisted it into a controvertioal topic. http://www.antiwar.com/orig/norouzi.php?articleid=11025 Now you see that you were wrong.Iran has always defended itself, but it's not an offensive country. Some say he's said: "The Holocaust is a myth!" Again, this is a single phrase taken from a long speech and there are totally logical reasons for saying so. If 6,000,000 Jews were killed, that's terrible, but 300,000 Shiite Moslems killed by Saddam aren't important at all? Over 650,000 Iraqi people are killed and that's not important?! When Fox News simply says that America and Israel are capable of destroying and killing Iran's population of 69,000,000 within two weeks, it's OK and no one says they're threatening other countries to nuke them (I saw this with my own eyes on the Fox News website) Millions of people killed in Afghanistan, Hiroshima & Nagasaki and the Vietnam war are not considered human beings at all! Now I think you'd get the point why he's IRONICALLY said it's a myth. Moreover, don't you believe in freedom of speech/mind? I'd judge people by their ACTIONS rather than by what they say / their religion / race / culture and the colour of their skin! Some countries are using Iran as a scapegoat to put the blame (for their own faults) on. This part is just for Americans: Those of you who say why Iran says "Death to America": 1. 'America' to us means the U.S govt, not the people. How do you expect Iranians to mean "American people" when our media admires Americans for marching and holding up "no war" placards?! 2. The new generation don't say such things and if some of them occasionally march in the streets that's because some of the stupid guys enjoy making noise and they mainly go out there to meet their girlfriends/boyfriends! Strange. Isn't it? 3. Such mottos are not just said in Iran and as you know whatever you hear is a response to the U.S govt's terrible actions which has made life for many people hell (You wouldn't deny that attacking countries is a mistake. Would you?) 4. The U.S gov't helped Saddam attack Iran and I hope you know which country gave Iraq biological weapons which killed a million Iranians. 5. America hit an Iranian airplane over the Persian Gulf and killed 200 passengers for no reason. 6. America places sanctions on Iran, promotes a false image of Iran and Iranians, scares tourists away, and harms our economy, development and credit. To what purpose? When you call Ahmadinejad a nutcase for what he's said, what do you call Bush for his actions? If you open your eyes, it's c;ear who is dangerous.I mean it's a good idea to consider what Bush is doing to the world with his wrong decisions and lies. Bush is powerful and influencial, but Ahmadinejad is nothing. He's even failed to control the inflation. To those who are upset with American hostages taken for 444 days: 1. Firstly, It's related to so many years ago and it's almost a part of history, and don't forget that when there's a revolution, there'd be chaos and people may do things that they should not, moreover they're all alive and healthy. Aren't they? 2.The U.S has arrested Iranian diplomats in Iraq and had tortured the one who was freed. Now you decide who has the right to be upset with whom. How do you believe in their lies about politics when they hide both the most and the least important things from you considering the fact that politics is the world of lies in its nature?!!! Final word: "Don't accuse Iran of something it hasn't done.Neither has it developed nukes nor does it want to invade anywhere.Currently, the world sees who is ivading other countries. One needs to clean his own closet before thinking about cleaning others'.Agree?" If you're too stubborn to stick to your groundless theory of attacking Israel, I'll tell you our logical theory: "The moment that Iran attacks Israel, Iran will be wiped off the face of the earth by the U.S and its allies.(Thought this twisted phrase is familiar to you) and Iran is far more logic than doing such a stupid thing" I'm quite sure you know that all the events and lies in the world are a part of a pre-planned scenario by major world-powers (Iran as an important country has always been a part of their plans)And the first step is to brainwash people. They excactly know what will happen even 50 years later! I think Iraq is such a good example.Attacking it with the excuse of removing Seddam while they'd put Seddam there themselves and had supported him for years! The same is true with Al Qaida if you do some research! But in this particular case Iran and the U.S were co-operating in fighting the terrorists in Afghanistan. One more thing: When we think of the U.S, we think of its greatness and its countless "positive points" not its president. When you think of other countries, you think of their presidents or a nation as a whole?! No gov't in the world is representative for its people.Try to judge everyone righteously not just by a few things that you find as "negative points". Isn't it better for both countries to forget past conflicts and to have peaceful relations? Our two gov'ts are like 10 year old children playing a stupid, harsh, rhetorical game. They don't care about hurting people's feelings. They just try to make our two peoples enemies to achieve their own goals. We, as the people of these countries, MUST NOT allow these conflics into our hearts. Now, what do you think? You'll have elections soon and we'll have one in 2009.You just vote for a Democrate and we'll find someone who'd get along with the U.S (Our former pres is a nice bet).Deal? No matter how much they hide this fact, but if Iran and the U.S co-operate with each other, not only the Mid-East crises will be solved but also it'll have a great positive impact on the world.I can't wait to see both nations in peace. It'd be marvelous! Thanks for your time
You won't find this information anywhere.ANYWHERE! What do you think? Some people may like this. You're not gonna find this information anywhere else.I'm uncovering the secrets! (I've also provided proof and have fixed the news link) Special thanks to my American friend who helped me proofread my writing. I believe that if you spend 5-10 minutes reading this essay, you will be better informed than if you listen to a lifetime's worth of Major Media news. I've just turned 19 and I'm a university student studying English who just cannot sit back and let the lies fly unchallenged. This article has two parts: 1. Cultural and general info 2. Political info. Note: I've explained all the things that you always talk about, so read it all plz! (Anytime you like!) Specially the political part! Any answers before reading the whole thing will prove to be wrong. **** Hi. I'm an Iranian who has spent his life in Iran. But come on, there are only a few restrictions. It's cool over here. People here do whatever they wish to! Many strict rules in other countries don't even exist in Iran. Also, you should understand that what may seem so normal to you, may be a nightmare for us and vise versa. That's why you don't understand a few of Iran's laws because some of them are based on our culture. You look at our country from "your own point of view"! In Iran every single house has a sattelite dish. Sattelite television has a serious influence on our people, and Iranians wear very fashionable clothing. Maybe it is a kind of imitation, but we still have our own unique Iranian style (I'm talking about public places, in our privacy there's no difference). A visitor might wonder if this is a country or a fantasy pageant of beauty queens! Almost women wear half their their hair out, and make-up and fashionable clothing are everywhere.(I ignore a few fuddy-duddies though!) Iran is one of the super-consumers of cosmetics. You would be surprised to see the difference between what you imagine and what Iran really is! In my view, everything is great, if you ignore unemployment, inflation and air pollution. They're common problems around the world today! Look! Poeple are like this! http://www.salijoon.ir/bazigar/hedye%20tehrani/30nema4251159.JPG http://www.30nema.com/images/gallery/30nema4252403.jpg http://i10.tinypic.com/4clk3us.jpg Americanised Iranian girl? Nope, everyone's like that, but this one's inside the car! Naughty girls do anything! http://tinypic.com/2d0nfao.jpg Enough proof? Some people think women don't have any rights in Iran. But in my view, women are overrunning the place. But that's not a bad thing. I feel foolish for sitting here explaining ordinary things to you. Another funny thing: Your footage about stoning the women who have committed adultery. Have you ever asked yourselves how many years ago that footage related to? Are they balck and white or colourful? But in one case (related to many years ago) the thing that had happened was incest not adultery. We think being punished for corruption is good, as it deters people from doing that and the society will be far healthier than the countries in which commiting such things is considered to be normal! For your information, most of those footages are from Afghanistan which was ruled by freaks (Taliban). What exactly makes you think women are treated differently? The way they were/are treated in Saudi Arabia? Try to think of the racism in your country too. There's no perfect country! Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan are --------- SEPERATE COUNTRIES! --------- Even within Iran, 60% of us are Persian and 30% are Turkish! Iran is a normal country like any other in the world. The point is, there's nothing mysterious about us! The 4th highest tower in the world (Milad tower) is in Tehran (visit it at this link from wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Milad.jpg ). 51 of the top 100 universities in the Mid-East are in Iran, and they're among the top universities of the world as well. The champion weight-lifter, a woman, and a song by one of the pop singers who/which won the nobel peace prize are Iranians. Lots of Iranians win nobel prizes specially in the field of medicine. Iranian girls are famous for being terrific. We have Persian rugs and Persian literature, many Persian poets, artists and scientists that are world famous. Iranian culture is now westernized and only a little of the ancient culture has survived. According to statistics Tehran is the cheapest capital city in the world (one Dollar =about 950 Tomans! For example you can buy windows vista for 1 Dollar here instead of 700 Dollars!!! or 3 supper pizzas for 10 Dollars!!!wow!) There are many other things. How many pages would you need to describe a country? Iran has nearly all the industries and technologies found in 'developed' countries. Oh, and we have four seasons! (Some people think it never snows here! We get a lot of snow and there are skating rinks! lol) The list is endless. News: "Iranian scientists managed to make human teeth grow after you've lost them using basic cells" I'm gonna introduce Iran's international news website to you (Press TV) which was established recently. Some charactristics of Iranians would be: Negative: We are proud, greedy, hard-working (for ourselves), not punctual, impatient, and lazy at doing our duty well, crazy about luxuries and thus extravagant! Highly competitive and ambitious. Positive: intelligent, a bit idealistic, well-dressed, formal, well-educated, warm and friendly, hospitable. Some people think Iran is a desert! Well, it is, if you consider California, New Mexico, Utah, Arkansas, and Alabama a desert. We share the same latitude. The Media are good at putting lying comments out there. I really don't get the point why our politicians defame themselves by talking about things that have got nothing to do with us. For example does verbal defence of Palestinians cause them to have a better life? The thing is that they occasionally make some statements that the media would misuse it against Iran. For example they pick up some specific phrases of a long speech (without refering to the main points and reasons for that speech) and put so many bad comments on that. No sane person would take such nonsense at face value. First of all, Iranians don't hate anyone. If our government complains about some injustice going on in the world, it's not bad, is it? (Although what we want from them is to shut up and not get us into trouble by talking about things that are none of our concern) We hate neither Jews nor Americans. I love Americans, otherwise why would I talk to them?! No difference. And two of Iran's parliment members are Jews. Only Iran's opponents are pulling Iran's leg and what they say is of no credit. It's just based on political conflicts. What we're doing is legal. What they ask us to do (ignoring our international rights) is illegal. Iran is a peaceful country. Why? It's the regional super-power and if she wanted, she could easily invade the countries in our neibourhood just like what Saddam did to our country, but as you see Iran has peaceful relations with all of them. Some people say he said: Israel should be wiped off the map! (I wish he could just shut up!)But have they told you the rest of his speech and that why he's said this at all? You know that it's a passive sentence. He's never said that IRAN wants to wipe Israel off the map! He wasn't talking about destroying Israel at all. He was talking about relocating Israel, so that they could live seperate from Palestinians and they could both live in peace. They've only told you this phrase not the whole thing and it's mistranslated intentionally. Iran has always defended itself, but it's not an offensive country. Obviously, some countries are using Iran as a scapegoat to put the blame (for their own faults) on. And what country is better than Iran to be a scapegoat? The whole world believes that Iran isn't a peaceful country. This part is just for Americans who would still argue over unimportant things: Those of you who say why Iran says "Death to America": 1. Strange. Isn't it? 3. Such mottos are not just said in Iran and as you know whatever you hear is a response to the U.S govt's terrible actions which has made life for many people hell (You wouldn't deny that attacking countries is a mistake. right?) 4. The U.S gov't helped Saddam attack Iran and I hope you know which country gave Iraq biological weapons which killed lots of Iranians. I mean it's a good idea to consider what Bush is doing to the world with his wrong decisions and lies. Poor British sailors were detained by the English gov't just for saying that they were treated well in Iran and that Iranians were logical people (They said these when they were on England's soil!) They were PREVENTED from releasing their memoirs by England! Now you decide who has the right to be upset with whom. How do you believe in their lies about politics when they hide both the most and the least important things from you considering the fact that politics is the world of lies in its nature?!!! Considering all this, you'd probably be able to GUESS what percentage of what they tell you about the Mid-East, Islam, Moslems and other things is true!!! lol Some answerers still confuse Iraq and Iran after reading all this! You are in Iraq not in Iran! They're separate countries! Isn't it better for both countries to forget past conflicts and to have peaceful relations? Our two gov'ts are like 10 year old children playing a stupid, harsh, rhetorical game. (We hate them both!) They don't care about hurting people's feelings. They just try to make our two peoples enemies to achieve their own goals. We, as the people of these countries, MUST NOT allow these conflics into our hearts. You know something? All govt's are hateful. I just said the above things because it sounds unfair when some Americans talk about the taking of the 444 hostages while I keep silence. Now, what do you think? I can't wait to see both nations in peace. It'd be marvelous! They've started to have diplomatic talks! That's great! A lovely American told me: "Having had the wonderful opportunity to visit your country enabled me to see for myself how wonderful the Iranian people are and to learn about your history, your culture, your cuisine, music, films, dance, sacred sites, your medical accomplishments...all your beauty. I am so sorry my country's government seems to delight in trying to bully Iran. Worst of all are the lies told. I know enough about your country to be able to discern when the propaganda machine here is operating. I just wish more Americans traveled and could see for themselves what I have seen. By the way, I traveled to Iran under the auspices of The Friendship Force, an organization started by Pres. Carter to promote peace through one-on-one friendship, a mission I take seriously. Thank you for your wonderful essay on Iran." BTW, make sure you visit the links I've put up for you. They're all from trusted websites. There are some really nice stuff there! Absoulutely beautiful pictures (look at cities and nature) and "Americanised" music! lol Thanks for your time

Any Experts on Health Care Careers? Okay, here's my deal. I graduated with a BS in health care administration from a good university. I did very well in all my classes and completed internships in public health policy and information technology. Now that I graduated, I'm having difficulty finding a job in health care administration. I'm not being picky; I have applied to several data entry and clerk position to get my foot in the door. This experience has given me change of heart with health care administration. I want to be in health care helping people. However, I want to develop a specific skill. I believe this will better suit me in today's rapidly changing job market. According to a career counselor, I have an ISTJ (Introverted Sensing Thinking Judging) personality. I have great attention to detail and have excellent written/verbal communication. I like when things are not routine and seeing results firsthand. Some health careers that I thought might appeal to me are physician assistant and occupational therapist. I would appreciate and input and/or ideas. Thanks!

Did you see Ron Paul's latest comments and discussion of the stimulus package coming up? "Stimulus for Who? This week the House is expected to pass an $825 billion economic stimulus package. In reality, this bill is just an escalation of a government-created economic mess. As before, a sense of urgency and impending doom is being used to extract mountains of money from Congress with minimal debate. So much for change. This is déjà vu. We are again being promised that its passage will help employment, help homeowners, help the environment, etc. These promises are worthless. This time around especially, Congress should know better than to pass anything of this magnitude without first reading the fine print. There a many red flags that I have found in this bill. At least $4 billion is allocated to expanding the police state and the war on drugs through Byrne grants, which even the Bush administration opposed, and the COPS program, both of which are corrupt and largely ineffective programs. To help Big Brother keep a better eye on us and our children, $20 billion would go towards health information technology, which would create a national system of electronic medical records without adequate privacy protection. These records would instead be subject to the misnamed federal “medical privacy” rule, which allows government and state-favored special interests to see medical records at will. An additional $250 million is allocated for states to nationalize individual student data, expanding Federal control of education and eroding privacy. $79 billion bails out states that haphazardly expanded their budgets during the bubble years, but refuse to retrench and cut back, as their taxpayers have had to, during recession years. $200 million expands Americorps. $100 million goes to “faith-and-community” based organizations for social services, which will further insinuate the government into charity and community service. Private charities are much more efficient and effective because they are directly accountable to donors, while public programs tend to get rewarded for failure. With its money, the Federal Government brings its incompetence and its whims, while creating foolish dependence. This is sad to see. Of course the bill is rife with central planning projects. $4 billion for job training, much of which will be used to direct workers into “green jobs”. $200 million to “encourage” electric cars, $2 billion to support US manufacturers of advanced batteries and battery systems, which is yet another function of government I can’t find in the Constitution. Not to mention $500 million for energy efficient manufacturing demonstration projects, $70 million for a Technology Innovation Program for “research in potentially revolutionary technologies” in which government, not supply and demand, will pick winners and losers. $746 million for afterschool snacks, $6.75 billion for the Department of Commerce, including $1 billion for a census. This bill delivers an additional debt burden of $6,700 to every American man, woman and child. There is a lot of stimulus and growth in this bill – that is, of government. Nothing in this bill stimulates the freedom and prosperity of the American people. Politician-directed spending is never as successful as market-driven investment. Instead of passing this bill, Congress should get out of the way by cutting taxes, cutting spending, and reining in the reckless monetary policy of the Federal Reserve. http://www.house.gov/apps/blog/tx14_paul/090126_2631.shtml What do you think?

Instead of passing this bill, Congress should get out of the way by cutting taxes, cutting spending, and reining in the reckless monetary policy of the Federal Reserve. http://www.house.gov/apps/blog/tx14_paul/090126_2631.shtml Can we start listening to Ron Paul for this country's sake please?!
Did anyone see Barack Obama's 30 minute presentation on television Wednesday night? ? I don't have cable so I was not able to see it, but the Associated Press article had the following to say about it. WASHINGTON – Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was less than upfront in his half-hour commercial Wednesday night about the costs of his programs and the crushing budget pressures he would face in office. Obama's assertion that "I've offered spending cuts above and beyond" the expense of his promises is accepted only by his partisans. His vow to save money by "eliminating programs that don't work" masks his failure throughout the campaign to specify what those programs are — beyond the withdrawal of troops from Iraq. A sampling of what voters heard in the ad, and what he didn't tell them: THE SPIN: "That's why my health care plan includes improving information technology, requires coverage for preventive care and pre-existing conditions and lowers health care costs for the typical family by $2,500 a year." THE FACTS: His plan does not lower premiums by $2,500, or any set amount. Obama hopes that by spending $50 billion over five years on electronic medical records and by improving access to proven disease management programs, among other steps, consumers will end up saving money. He uses an optimistic analysis to suggest cost reductions in national health care spending could amount to the equivalent of $2,500 for a family of four. Many economists are skeptical those savings can be achieved, but even if they are, it's not a certainty that every dollar would be passed on to consumers in the form of lower premiums. ___ THE SPIN: "I also believe every American has a right to affordable health care." THE FACTS: That belief should not be confused with a guarantee of health coverage for all. He makes no such promise. Obama hinted as much in the ad when he said about the problem of the uninsured: "I want to start doing something about it." He would mandate coverage for children but not adults. His program is aimed at making insurance more affordable by offering the choice of government-subsidized coverage similar to that in a plan for federal employees and other steps, including requiring larger employers to share costs of insuring workers. ___ THE SPIN: "I've offered spending cuts above and beyond their cost." THE FACTS: Independent analysts say both Obama and Republican John McCain would deepen the deficit. The nonpartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget estimates Obama's policy proposals would add a net $428 billion to the deficit over four years — and that analysis accepts the savings he claims from spending cuts. The nonpartisan Tax Policy Center, whose other findings have been quoted approvingly by the Obama campaign, says: "Both John McCain and Barack Obama have proposed tax plans that would substantially increase the national debt over the next 10 years." The analysis goes on to say: "Neither candidate's plan would significantly increase economic growth unless offset by spending cuts or tax increases that the campaigns have not specified." ___ THE SPIN: "Here's what I'll do. Cut taxes for every working family making less than $200,000 a year. Give businesses a tax credit for every new employee that they hire right here in the U.S. over the next two years and eliminate tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas. Help homeowners who are making a good faith effort to pay their mortgages, by freezing foreclosures for 90 days. And just like after 9-11, we'll provide low-cost loans to help small businesses pay their workers and keep their doors open. " THE FACTS: His proposals — the tax cuts, the low-cost loans, the $15 billion a year he promises for alternative energy, and more — cost money, and the country could be facing a record $1 trillion deficit next year. Indeed, Obama recently acknowledged — although not in his commercial — that: "The next president will have to scale back his agenda and some of his proposals." Laura - Obama's speech became meaningless when he entered Wright's church and stayed there for 20 years listening to "Black Liberation theology" which is a twisted perversion of the Christian gospel and is heavily racist to the point of wanting to see white people exterminated. Obama was born to a Muslim father, he had a Muslim grandfather, he was raised by a Muslim step father, taught as a boy in a Muslim school, tutored by a man who was a sexual pervert and socialist during his early boyhood, attended the church Wright pastored which had many Muslim members, has been praised by Quaddafi and Hamas - Muslim terrorists, and in an absent-minded moment on tv slipped and said "My Muslim faith." His friends are terrorists and leaders who hate our nation and want her destroyed from without and within. He has not proven his citizenship, and his biggest campaign issue centered around race. He has promised that his future plans are heavily racial in purpose. Christian? Never! Obama voted 4 times against letting a baby receive medical attention if that baby survived an abortion. Fannie and Freddie paid him more than everyone but Chris Dodd and 39 times more than McCain. I believe McCain received a token payment to cover their tracks, and the big three; Dodd, Obama and Kerry were paid to keep their mouths shut or to continue their refusal to vote with Bush regulate them. Obama has NEVER at any time declared he loves America, but has called our troops terrorists and has downgraded our Constitution. He has lied so many times about so many things that it is hard to believe he means any of the things he says. He has vacillated on numerous issues, and has never instituted any legislation in his one year that he actually showed up for work in Illinois. He has can speak eloquently about nothing and people look beyond his lack of knowledge and experience like they are in a hypnotic trance. He is a fraud, and unworthy of the respect of any thinking person.

I want to work in the UN (as in United Nations) in the future (I am 12) some questions? You may think 12 is too young to choose a possibility of pursuing a career, but i just think its good to plan early and work towards it. In the guide book I read there are 6 ways of working for the UN. The JPO (Junior Professional Officer), the YPP ( Young Professional Programme),the VA (Vacancy Announcement), the NCRE (National Competitive Recruitment Examination) , and the International Internship Policy. the JPO : this is the JPO homepage : http://www.jposc.org/content/programme/presentation-en.html Please explain how i can do the following : Academic qualifications: Master's degree (or equivalent) in a development-related discipline; (What kind of subjects are considerable to major in, for me to work in the UN and earn a Master's Degree? and what does developed-related discipline mean? Minimum of one to two years of working experience in a developing country is highly desirable; (what kind of working experience would be more effective?) Language skills: written and spoken proficiency in at least two of the three working languages used by UNDP: English, French and Spanish. Fluency in Arabic, Russian or Portuguese is an asset; ( I speak fluent English, French and Korean I want to learn to speak Russian!) Excellent information technology skills, including word-processing, database applications, presentation software and Internet; Evidence of ability to think strategically; to express ideas clearly; to work independently and in teams; to demonstrate a sense of self-assuredness combined with cultural and gender sensitivity; A strong commitment to development; an interest in adapting to varied physical and professional environments; and a desire to work with people with different language, national and cultural backgrounds; Respect for the principles of the United Nations Charter and the participating UN agencies Mission Statements.
Should I stay in Sweden or not????? by:Iraqi asylum seeker ? Hi , I am an iraqi asylum seeker.I applied for asylum in Sep 2007 and I got a negative decission in may 2005.I appealed the decision and stuck in long waiting processes. I have got an opportunity to study in Malaysia (Master of Information Technology) and I feel so confused about what should I do. Should I leave Sweden after I paid around 20 000 $ and go back to life or sleep for the next few or plenty of months since Sweden have changed its policy towards asylum seekers and the future is unpredictable. noting that ,I have only 2 weeks to decide so I cant wait until the decision comes up. I would be grateful to any reply even if you underrated it. , Muhamed
In your mind, which pieces of this information are more useful / interesting? I believe that if you spend 10 minutes reading this essay, you will be better informed than if you listen to a lifetime's worth of Major Media news. This article has two parts: 1. Cultural and general info 2. Political info. Note: I've explained everything.Any answers before reading the whole thing will prove to be wrong.Specially the political part.I've provided evidence for whatever I say. It's just the way it is. **** Part 1: Cultural and general info Hi. I'm a 19 year old Iranian who has spent his life in Iran.I study English. When I chat with people from other countries, I am shocked to see how totally wrong their ideas are about Iran. I wrote this article in an attempt to help correct those ideas. The first thing the West accuses our government of is that we don't allow personal freedoms. In Iran most houses have a sattelite dish. Sattelite television has a serious influence on our people, and Iranians wear very fashionable clothing. Maybe it is a kind of imitation, but we still have our own unique Iranian style. A visitor might wonder if this is a country or a fantasy pageant of beauty queens! Make-up and fashionable clothing are everywhere.I ignore a few fuddy-duddies though! In my view, everything is great, if you ignore unemployment, drugs, inflation and air pollution. Look! Poeple are like this! http://www.salijoon.ir/bazigar/hedye%20tehrani/30nema4251159.JPG http://www.30nema.com/images/gallery/30nema4252403.jpg http://i10.tinypic.com/4clk3us.jpg http://tinypic.com/2d0nfao.jpg Is that enough?! Some people think women don't have any rights in Iran. But in my view, women are overrunning the place. They're very respectful, and they've been the winners in so many cases: Most of them get into the best universities because they're very smart. And they get the best jobs because of their high university degrees. But in one case the thing that had happened was incest not adultery. Most of those footages relate to the early days just after Iran's revolution! Otherwise you'd get new footages at least once a month! What exactly makes you think women are treated differently? The way they are treated in Saudi Arabia? Try to think of the racism in your country too.I found a BOOK of the U.S problems and it got me dizzy! Iran has its own problems too. Although we're proud of this achievement because we believe that having nuclear energy means that a country is developed. A few months ago Iran uncovered the most effective anti-H.I.V medicine. The pioneer in heart transplants and artificiall hearts, "artificial vessels by nano-technology" (Reported yesterday) and so on and so! (I've put two websites below) The head of the Mars Mission in NASA is Iranian. One of the best designers of sports cars working in Germany is Iranian. Some of the best 3D animators are Iranian. Iran is one of the best countries in counter-engineering. Holds the second place in building dams and in loads of other things! It's one of the top countries in bio-technology and nano-technology. The champion weight-lifter, a woman the nobel peace prize are Iranian. The 6th top movie director in the world is Iranian.(Abbas Kiarostami) http://arts.guardian.co.uk/fridayreview/story/0,12102,1084266,00.html These are just small samples. If the media told you about Iran's achievemens everyday and didn't hide them, your news would be full of Iranian news!Iranian girls are famous for being terrific. We have Persian rugs and Persian literature, many Persian poets, artists and scientists that are world famous. Iranian culture is now westernized and only a little of the ancient culture has survived. According to statistics Tehran is the cheapest capital city in the world (one Dollar =about 950 Tomans) There are many other things. How many pages would you need to describe a country? Iran has nearly all the industries and technologies found in 'developed' countries. Oh, and we have four seasons! We get a lot of snow and there are skating rinks! lol The list is endless. I'm gonna introduce Iran's international news website to you (Press TV) which was established recently. It's fully in English. In the "Sic / Tech" section you'll always see Iran's discoveries. The address is: http://www.presstv.ir/news.aspx Press TV news: Iranian scientists have registered more than 4800 inventions during the last Iranian calendar year of 1385 (April 21 2006-April 20, 2007). 4800 inventions in just one year! The list of highly-respected Iranian scientists and engineers in the world: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modern_Iranian_scientists_and_engineers#T The list of notable Iranian figures and pioneers: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contemporary_Medicine_in_Iran An extract: Iranian medical community is a significant part of medical community in US and Europe Enough evidence? Some people think Iran is a desert! Well, it is, if you consider California a desert. We share the same latitude. Iran is a modern country with breathtakingly beautiful nature and lots of historic places to visit. Please take a look at the following links to see if Iran looks like what you think or not! This is a photo of Tehran (Awesome, Isn't it?): http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/79/Tehran-2-1600.jpg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tehran If you like you can visit these too, hundreds of pretty photos from the cities, nature and historic places: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Hills_south_west_of_Sanandaj_near_the_village_of_Kilaneh.jpg http://www.pbase.com/k_amj/throughout_iran&page=all http://www.pbase.com/k_amj/throughout_iran&page=2 http://www.pbase.com/k_amj/throughout_iran&page=3 http://www.bigsoccer.com:80/forum/showthread.php?t=199709&page=4 http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=199709&page=3 http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=199709&page=13 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran Some people think music is forbidden in Iran. "Music of Iran and Iranian musicians have received countless awards in the course of history. Every year from 1977 to 2007.Evidence? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_of_Iran I send Iranian music to my American and Canadian chat friends and they all say they're some of the best songs they've ever heard. Here's a sample of the latest hits from two official Iranian music websites. You can just right click on the links below and choose "Save Target As" to download them. Iranian music is just modern pop which is based on electronic stuff.Experience how awsome music can be produced by electronic Trance drums instead of DJ music! 1.(The window: 2005) http://www.sarzamin.org/Sarzaminmusic/Persian/128KB/Siavash%20Ghomayshi/03_%20Panjereh.mp3 2.(Keep me in your memory: 2005) http://www.sarzamin.org/Sarzaminmusic/Persian/128KB/Siavash%20Ghomayshi/07_%20Yaade%20Man%20Baash.mp3 3.(I just want you: 2003) http://download.bia2music.com/Music/Irani/Mansour/Crazy/Delam%20Faghat%20Toro%20Mikhaad(www.Bia2Music.com).MP3 4.(You know this: 2007) http://download.bia2music.com/Music/Irani/Top33/128/Neorin%20-%20To%20Ino%20Miduni.mp3 5.(Hold my hand: 2007) http://www.sarzaminmp3.com/Sarzaminmusic/Persian/128KB/Mansour%20-%20Beautiful/09_%20Dastamo%20Begir.mp3 6.(The wetness of your eyes: 2006) http://download.bia2music.com/Music/Irani/Top33/128/Ehsan%20Gheibi%20-%20Khisie%20Cheshmat.mp3 7.(The rain: 2007) http://download.bia2music.com/Music/Irani/Siavash%20Ghomayshi/Sunset%20to%20Sunrise/64/Siavash%20Ghomayshi%20-%20Sunset%20to%20Sunrise%20-%2005%20Baroon%20(www.Bia2Music.com).wma 8.(Farangis "A female name" 2007) http://download.bia2music.com/Music/Irani/Siavash%20Ghomayshi/Sunset%20to%20Sunrise/64/Siavash%20Ghomayshi%20-%20Sunset%20to%20Sunrise%20-%2001%20Farangis%20(www.Bia2Music.com).wma 9.(The distance: 2007) http://www.sarzaminsong.com/Sarzaminmusic/Persian/128KB/Siavash%20Ghomayshi%20-%20Sunset%20to%20Sunrise/03_%20Faseleh.mp3 10.(Sunrise: 2007) http://www.sarzaminsong.com/Sarzaminmusic/Persian/128KB/Siavash%20Ghomayshi%20-%20Sunset%20to%20Sunrise/04_%20Tolou.mp3 11.(Stop world:2006) http://www.sarzaminmusic.com/Sarzaminmusic/Persian/128KB/Reza%20Sadeghi%20-%20Vaysa%20Donya/01_%20Vaysa%20Donya.mp3 12.(You can't: 2007) http://www.sarzaminmp3.com/Sarzaminmusic/Persian/128KB/Mansour%20-%20Beautiful/06_%20Nemitooni.mp3 And so on and on! It's now 2007 and most people still think we are uneducated people living in deserts and riding camels! Part 2: Political info. We hate neither Jews nor Americans. How would our guys dream of America, want to be like them as much as possible, and hate them at the same time?! The truth us that Iranians are the only people in the Mid-East that are pro-American! Being agaisnt the U.S policies is a different story! We live basically the same lives.Don't look at the way women dress in public places! You've got to see them in other places!I've got to say that for Iran, Israel is not equal with Jews! Israel is a gov't. Jews are faithful people! 20,000 Jews and lots of Christians live here equally with Iranians and two of Iran's parliment members are Jews. Who says we want to force others to convert to Islam? Have you ever found a Moslem knocking at your door asking you to do so? Christians and Jews are both God-believers and respectful to us. Well, if you'd like to blame someone for that, hope in a time-machine and sue Hitler! lol Some countries are using Iran as a scapegoat to put the blame (for their own faults) on. This part is just for Americans: Those of you who say why Iran says "Death to America": 1. 'America' to us means the U.S govt, not the people. How do you expect Iranians to mean "American people" when our media admires Americans for marching and holding up "no war" placards?! Also, I see a lot of "Let's nuke Iran"s on YA.Isn't that a kind of "Death to Iran"? U.S. companies assistance in developing Iraq's chemical weapons facilities during the Iran-Iraq war which killed over a million Iranians 5. USS Vincennes shooting down Iran Air Flight 655 with many civilian fatalities 6.U.S. Support for anti-Iranian terrorist organisations (i.e. the MKO); 7. Economic damage caused by U.S. sanctions and political pressure; U.S. UAV overflights over Iran violating Iranian airspace since 2003. When you call Ahmadinejad a nutcase for what he's said, what do you call Bush for his war crimes? To those who are upset with American hostages taken for 444 days: 1. Firstly, It's related to so many years ago and it's almost a part of history, and don't forget that when there's a revolution, there'd be chaos and people may do things that they should not, moreover they're all alive and healthy. Aren't they? 2.The U.S has arrested Iranian diplomats in Iraq and had tortured the one who was freed. Now you decide who has the right to be upset with whom. How do you believe in their lies about politics when they hide both the most and the least important things from you considering the fact that politics is the world of lies in its nature?!!! If you like to insist on your theory of attacking Israel, I'll tell you our logical theory: "The moment that Iran attacks Israel, Iran will be wiped off the face of the earth by the U.S and its allies and Iran is far more logical than doing such a stupid thing" So, forget about it.I'm quite sure you know that all the events and lies in the world are a part of a pre-planned scenario by major world-powers (Iran as an important country has always been a part of their plans)And the first step is to brainwash people. They excactly know what will happen even 50 years later! I think Iraq is such a good example.Attacking it with the excuse of removing Saddam while they'd put Saddam there themselves and had supported him for years! They said they had W.M.Ds and you believed them. Now they say Iran (a member of N.P.T) has nukes / is developing nukes and you believe them wilhe the nuclear agency hasn't found any sign of illegal activities.Time to wake up! I can't wait to see both nations in peace. It'd be marvelous! Did you find my article informative? : ) Thanks for your time
Need some insight on this case study? Case # 1 – Final Project -The Energy Cooperative is a non-profit organization (501C3) dedicated to providing: 1) Education to the public regarding Energy information, new technology updates, monitoring viable new start-up energy companies and providing a public forum for complaints on its website. 2) Providing new alternative energy companies with the opportunity to dialogue with each other. Provide these new companies with a central hub to share new technological information and breakthroughs, standards, regulations etc. The Energy Cooperative has a headquarters in Chicago but affiliates which allow for colleague luncheons and public conferences all over the U.S. and in three cities abroad: Copenhagen, Milan and New Delhi. They are all united via the web. There are currently 400,000 members worldwide (professionals in the energy field and non-professionals who have interests in the field) who pay yearly dues (professional and non-professional) to their affiliate Cooperative. These Board members are self employed consultants so they owe no allegiance to any particular company. They have to sign a statement to that effect before they are appointed. They receive a nominal fee for directing their affiliate and being on the Board of Directors. Members are supposed to vote on matters regarding any initiatives, policy changes, large budgeted items over $100, etc. that will effect the larger membership. You are a Consultant and member of the Board of Directors and before you is the following proposal: One of the Board of Directors has asked approval for the Directors, when calling their personal potential clients, to be able to state, ” I am calling as Director of the Energy Cooperative” The Board has asked you to preview this proposal before the Board Meeting. Now after reading this what do you think are some ethical issues or concerns in this case study. Best answer will get high rating:)
